Now that pricing for the 2013 SRT Viper has been released, Chrysler is hard at work in determining which US dealerships will be approved to sell the new iconic American sports car. According to Ralph Gilles, CEO of the SRT brand, only 100 to 150 of more than 2,300 dealers will be approved to sell the new Viper, and dealers will be receiving letters this week with information on how they can qualify. The most important requirement according to Gilles however is that the dealerships have “to have the fire, the passion… that’s the unofficial requirement – that you have a love affair with the cars and you just love fast cars.”

Understandably, every dealership will want to be able to say that it sells the SRT Viper, despite knowing that the car targets a niche market with a starting MSRP of $97,395. Chrysler plans on manufacturing only 2,000 Vipers a year, so the allotment to the approved dealerships will also be quite low. GALLERY: 2013 SRT Viper [Source: USA Today]
